Attorney Melissa Whish brings 30 years of experience to the practice of Family Law. During this time, Melissa has adapted her expertise to meet the needs she saw as underserved.
The Law offices of Melissa A. Whish was founded in 1994 specializing in Family Law. Following this, Melissa later combined her aptitude for reaching resolution with formal divorce mediation training to add Mediation Matters as a divorce mediation adjunct to her practice.
Melissa graduated cum laude in 1982 from Regis College, Weston, MA with a B.A. in Communications. Following college, she spent two years in computer sales and as Corporate Communications Coordinator for Leading Edge Computers.
Melissa then received her J.D. from New England Law/Boston in 1988. While at New England Law/Boston, she was a published member of the New England Journal for Criminal and Civil Confinement.
Attorney Erica Ford began her law career working for the Honorable Judge Diane Kottmyer at Suffolk Superior Court and went on to practice litigation at Bingham McCutchen LLP’s Boston office. She then practiced Family and Estate Law at a California firm.
Erica’s passion for facilitating communication and understanding encouraged her to expand her legal expertise into the area of alternative dispute resolution. In 2015, she earned her Massachusetts mediation and divorce mediation certifications. She completed the advocate training program at the Federation for Children with Special Needs and mediated for Plymouth District Court. She is Of Counsel for Martha’s Vineyard Mediation Program.
Erica received her BA in English and French with Highest Honors from the University of Michigan in 1996 and her J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2000. She has written for several media outlets and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the League of Women Voters.
