Biography

Jonathan Callahan, CFA



Jonathan was most recently a Director, Portfolio Manager, & Senior Analyst at 
Crestwood Advisors, a wealth management firm in Boston. His primary areas of expertise are in equity research, asset allocation, portfolio management and the development & implementation of investment processes.  

Over the years as an analyst Jonathan has covered a wide spectrum of industries and sectors including consumer discretionary, hotels/leisure, energy, insurance and financials, and for many years was responsible for responsible for originating, researching, and recommending investments at the firm, delivering five consecutive years of benchmark outperformance .  More recently, he has been focusing effort on the asset allocation process, alternative investments, renewable energy technology & other socially responsible investments, an asset class he is passionate about and continues to see great investment opportunities in.  

Jonathan's investment philosophy is rooted in value investing and emphasizes bottom-up fundamental analysis, earnings quality and free cash flow.  Much this investment discipline was galvanized working for several years as an analyst at J.L. Kaplan Associates and later Evergreen Investments, which acquired the institutional small cap value manager in 2002.

His passion for investing began in the sixth grade when his grandmother convinced him to spend a summer’s worth of busboy tips on 10 shares of Gillette Stock.  


Jeff Asher, CFA

During his career, Jeff has worked in a series of positions ranging from investment operations to Senior Portfolio Manager for individuals and institutions, Buy-side Portfolio Management, and Tax Accounting.

In 1998 Jeff joined Bank of America as a Portfolio Manager, eventually managing a book of business valued at $350 million. While at Bank of America, Jeff was selected by the sales team to communicate the bank’s investment policy with prospective clients, generating more than $75 million in new assets. Jeff attained the CFA designation in September, 2000.

In 2008, Jeff also began consulting with a new money management firm, Buckhead Asset Management. He is currently consulting with a former Bank of America executive in the development of a financial literacy business called MyWealthSkills, Inc.

Jeff is a great fit for Four Winds given his progressive attitude, solution-oriented focus, and we will certainly lean heavily on his insight given his significant experience in Consulting, Portfolio Management, Analytical, and Business Development roles.  He brings a wealth of experience and a demonstrated track record of success
